Diamonds are made-Under pressure
When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.
Life without difficulty is a reachable goal. One you strive for every day. Peter Marshall wrote this quote which makes a lot of sense. The oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.
The oldest oak tree according to the Science Daily, (2000), “Athens, Ohio studies of a 373-year-old white oak found in a Ohio old-growth forest suggest it is the oldest recorded hardwood east of the Mississippi. But while this ranking is exciting to the researchers studying the forest, they are more interested in what the tree can tell them about the climate and ecology in the region over nearly four centuries. (www.sciencedaily.com).
This white oak withstands climatic forces, and its roots remain intact. How do we withstand the pressures of life and remain viable and yet experiences life’s challenges without losing it? It is a walk you must contend with on a daily basis. The courage to live and accommodate challenges makes it easier to manage.
This month is earthquake preparedness month. How do you prepare? Prepare by checking your fire extinguishers, have they expired? Check flash lights are there batteries readily available. Have you checked your radios are they working? Have you and the family discussed a disaster plan? What family outside of your state will be the contact person for your family? The contact person, ensure that each family member is ok.
There are some life challenges we can control and there are those challenges we can-not control. The oak tree continues to sway its branches and trees despite the weather. The diamond under pressure provides a beautiful style of colors that glitter and shine. I believe we can be like the oak tree and with stand the challenges of life and become as beautiful as the diamond under pressure if we chose too.
Life take a form of its own, challenges move and breath as we do but in the mist of the challenge there is light and the light we chose to follow will determine if we are a diamond, oak or weeds that wither in the sun.
