Information is King . . . Why?

November 2008 was the first time in history that the sales of
information products overtook the revenue of gambling on the
internet.

By February 2010, the sale of information on the internet
overtook the sales of gambling and the ‘adult’ industry combined.

So why does information sell so well on the internet?

– it is instantly accessible/downloadable to the purchaser
– it can be easily updated
– it can be sold relatively inexpensively as it is easy to distribute
– people are desperate to find a solutions for their problems or to
learn better ways to live their lives

The best information products to sell are those which:

– will solve a problem and/or educate someone about an immediate need.
– will solve a future problem — for instance, how to secure your home,
live healthily etc.

The former sells far better than the latter because when someone has
an immediate need, it is more likely that the information you provide
to fill that need will sell immediately. However, both types of
information answer the more basic question, “How Can I . . .?”

The purchase of information about a future need will often follow when
the need becomes more immediate. To secure information product customers
in this group, a good system of follow-up must be in place. So when they
are ready to buy, you will be ready to fill their needs.

BetterWebBuilder offers information products in a wide variety of ways,
but most importantly provides a system to distribute this information.

To get the system that provides you with the tools to develop a list of
prospective customers, follow up with them on a continuing basis and most
importantly provide all of the information and instruction to do so, we
found BetterWebBuilder fits the description to a “t”.

Passing good to great

I was recently asked how you move from good to great. I quickly stated, “What do you mean we are great everyone loves us. Do you want to move into excellent? The room became quiet as each of us declares how great we were. The leader posed the question again and this time it caused us to listen. How do you move from good to great? This takes time to evaluate why? Because you must be willing to evaluate strengthens weaknesses organization and trends. Yes, your home base business may be good the clients list is growing and affiliates are working but, there is always room for improvement.

Let’s look at communication how effective are you? What gaps exist within your down-line and up-line? Are you accessible? How many days does it take you to respond to clients? Are you prompted in your responses? What excuses to you use when you’re late with responses? Are you accountable as a leader? Groysberg (2012) suggest, having communication that goes bottom up is just as important as having communication going top up (pp.2). The question becomes where do you see your business in 3 yrs.?

What strategies are in place to improve your business? Re-exam your advertisement strategies venues and platforms is it times to investigate other business platforms? Perhaps adding and expanding will change your businesses growth.  Have you considered video conferencing? Cisco Systems uses video conferencing reaching multiple employees and executives at the same time. This fiber-optic technology “you feel like you are sitting across from these persons (Slind, personal communication, July 23, 2012).

Self-neglect-Looking through the eyes of abuse

The health care industry cares about the elderly population. To ensure that the health and wellbeing of this aggregate group remain the focus of families and health care providers education on elder abuse is pivotal. It is important that families are equipped to meet the challenges of elderly abuse recognizing elder abuse is the first step. People are living longer and health challenges are challenges increasing.  The health care industry is concerned about Self-neglect. Experts suggest that cognitive deficits (changes) contribute to this problem (Kelly, Camel, Dyer, Pavlik, Doody & Jogert (2008). Taking care of our elderly is important. The question becomes how do we distinguish between non-self-neglect and self-neglect.

A team of experts developed indicators that help determine the differences.

Common signs of elder self-neglect include:

  1. Little or no personal care: poor grooming, dirty or ragged clothes, unclean skin and fingernails
  2. Refusing medication or refusing to stay on medication schedule, unwilling to accept medical care
  3. Disoriented or incoherent: unable to focus, carry on normal conversation or answer basic questions about date, place, and time
  4. Unsafe living conditions: Lack of food or basic utilities in the home, unclean living quarters, rodents or other vermin
  5. Hoarding animals or trash, inability to get rid of unneeded items
  6. Inability to manage finances and property: not paying bills, repeatedly borrows money, gives money or property away
  7. Isolation:: Little contact with family or friends, no social support
  8. Alcohol or drug dependence

It is important to know these indicators. These indicators will help you make better decision. Some decisions may include relocating from home to an assisted living facility, board and care or into your home. To determine the best decision, I suggest you visit facilities, speak with the administrators, activity directors and lead staff members. I can share with you if there is an odor of urine leave.  Patients that are not clean dressed and/or hair is not combed leave the facility.

Remember self-neglect can happen to anyone experts suggest that cognitive changes are contributing factors. Make wise decision when you identify the above indicators. Developing a plan for your elderly family members will help decrease self-neglect. If possible stay connected to your elderly family members, listen patiently and implement an effective plan it will reduce the effects of self-neglect.

New beginnings: Frameworks that hold evidence

Standard

Good morning everyone here is a quote from Plato: You know that the beginning is the most important part of any work expecially in the case of a young and tender thing;for that is the tme in which the charater is being formed and the desired impression is more readily taken (Plato)

The challenge of new ideas can create and contribute to incomplete projects. The solution is in the developmental phases of your idea. Concepts fail and succeed. Deciding to develop a framework that proves solid brings growth  and sustainable which brings success. Plato suggest, ” young and tender thing that is the time in which the character is being formed and the desired impression is ore readily taken”. How to build character in business? It begins with your own beliefs about business. For example, mimicking ethical behaviors that promote honesty integrity and questioning your on beliefs are important beginning frameworks. Pierce suggest four methods in fixing your beliefs: tenacity, authority, priority and reasoning (Houser & kloesel, 1992).

Many business owners today find it difficult to exam their belief systems because it causes one to look beyond the surface. You must look deep in the core of your beliefs to determine how your beliefs developed? What internal and external forces affect your beliefs? And, if there are areas in your belief system that will affect building your business, establishing relationships and helping others become successful. The framework must come from a beginning and identifying the root will begin your new journey.

Lewis, (1942) theory of change provides reliable and valid evidence on how to begin the change process. The theory discussed three key concepts, unfreezing, change and freezing (pp.5). These three steps are the framwork of truths that hold evidence in developing change behaviors. How does one unfreeze old beliefs? Decide to exam the learned behavior, implement the change theory and reject prior learning. This is the unfreezing stage. Idenifying learned behavior must than be rejected (Lewis, 1942).

Change a small word with sudden impact and fear will introduce itself immediately to you. It is both challenging and for some painful. Lets take a car a stick shift gears are implace to make the appropriate shift while driving. Going up a hill you’ll need a gear shift. In change you must shift the way you think, feel and behave (Lewis, 1942). I spoke with a friend the other day one of the challenges shared in the conversation involved a lack of willingness to change. My friend said, “this is the way I’ve always done it,” how do you respond to thinking that challenges successful change? A reasonable person will here themselves speak, an unreasonable person will build strong blocks around there brain and heart. An unreasonable person will not hear anything. Change begins with identifying what needs to be change.

A theoretical concept that promotes truths begins with unfreezing beliefs and prior learnings implementing change process than acting on the change by a freezing process. Thank a popsicle melt it what you see is liquid place it back in the freezer and it will freeze not in the same form or shape. Freezing new way of thinking behaviors and beliefs requires unfreezing change and the refreezing. Developing new ideas, that will set you free to grow and flourish. This process is challenging but the end results are rewarding.

How to keep your love ones safe from falls and injuries

Standard

Carolyn Coleman-Grady RN, PHN, BSN,

Fall Prevention:

Aging is difficult for many people. The fear of injuries related to falls is of great concern in the health care industry. Here are a few quick tips to safe proof your home. Remove throw rugs, install night lights in the halls and bathrooms. Keeping pathways clear. Remove cords, and toys from walk ways. Be alert to oxygen tubing. It is important to keep the elderly hydrated. Sometimes the elderly will not drink water because of the constant need to void (urinate). However, when urinary infections develop you will see weakness, confusion and possible falls.

Safe guard your home post emergency phone numbers on the refrigerator and near your cell phone chargers. Be sure to include a family members, neighbor, pastor if applicable, work, cell phone and local police station. Posting the doctors number is also important. To keep your elderly family member in a safe environment safe proof their home.

There are several products for the elderly lifeline, ADT services,, and Alert bracelets.

Zynga-Games that thrill

The internet has amazing games that all can play from Family Feud to Wheel a Fortune, lucky slots to words with friends what every your pleasure is facebook and Zynga has it. But what about the chances we take with business opportunities? There are so many businesses to choose from. Web links, sites, videos platforms it can all be very confusing. One way to determine what works for you is to assess your need, evaluate time, and investment. Speak with representatives and don’t feel rushed to make a final decision.

The confidence and determination you develop will help you in decision making processes. I salute you for considering an independent business. One of the advantages of building an on line home based business is freedom. The freedom to regulate your day, organize your time with family and friends and still create a lucrative business. Many of the businesses on line require active participation. On line businesses are great and many of them really produce what is advertised. With a positive attitude vision and sticking to the plan your business will grow.

I viewed Cinderella the version with Whitney Houston and Brandi the singer. We all know the story, she dreamed of being loved and taken away from a terrible life of isolation, and ridicule. The one thing she did was dream, want and desire. She had a vision which included a beautiful world of royalty filled with love and pleasures beyond measure. I know sometimes you feel like nothing ever happens in your life that is right it seems dreams are hard to vision, and each road you choose fails. But, don’t give up yet open the book of imagination and flip the page. Develop a new story and break free from inconsistencies.

Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.

Skills and Confidence-How to bridge them together

Skills and confidence is an unconquered army. –George Herbert

How does one develop skills and confidence in communicating and developing relationships?  The aim of this blog is to discuss appropriate engaging through the written word with others.  It is easy to become vulnerable to content posted on a daily bases.  There are various levels of experience in writing each level brings unique information.  Level one it is important to introduce yourself.  Engaging with others takes time.  Sharing short post about you allows the readers to get to know you. It could include hobbies, interest, family fun times and even life experiences.

What I have found in reading many blogs and post, is people don’t engage the reader.  Readers like to imagine, dream and place themselves in the content.  The skills of a writer begin with skillful creativity. You may say, “But I’m not an expert writer, nor am I. I like to place my thoughts on paper, create situations that illicit discussion after all we all love the comments others post on our written blogs. There is a blog, I love to follow, it is informative, exciting and it creates a dream of traveling. The blogger is customtripplanning   http://acustomtripplanning.com/ Today she posted a blog on Road Warrior A cycling experience.  This is a blogger to follow. As I read her blog, I imagined the bike cycling I thought about skills and confidence.

A cyclist possesses skills, strong legs, respiratory system, endurance and a will to compete.  Now I know we have people who love to ride a bike, but these cyclers have a compassion for cycling. Check out her blog when you have a moment. This blogger has received blog awards.  The skillful writing of customtripplanning will bring you joy.  A reader will always find that one sentence or word that pops right out and brightens their day.  Blogging is fun, it takes practice. Write on topics that interest you. Begin your journey.  Writing is a skill and confidence comes over time.  Write every day. Watch your stores unfold.  Fear will create a block but hit those keys anyway.  Dream, focus and write. You will find your niche and others will follow.

Fortune-An encounter with inspiration

A man is fortunate if he encounters living examples of vice, as well as of virtue, to inspire him.-H.G. Bohn

Shortcomings mold and shape the direction of our lives tangling our mind and throwing us into a world winds.  Peaking in the window of time opened an encounter of defeat mistrust, and hopelessness while dancing to the music of sorrow, and regret. Once the act has completed hopelessness and mistrust bowing before your eyes awaiting an applause the standing ovation, rendered to these unfortunate acts is meaningless and of no value.  The encounter leaves a spellbound affect staining the thoughts of man.  Rest assures the vice that corrupts can be reset to a fortunate encounter that changes the course and direction of life.

How to change encounters of moral failing into moral excellence

  1. Standards
  2. Ethical principles
  3. Rectitude

Developing quality conduct that inspires and motivates are the foundation for building standards of living.  Ethical principles are also foundational.  Francois de La Rochefoucauld suggested, “Nothing is as infectious as example” (p. 294).  If the standard of living is motivated by appropriate conduct, you image the fun we all would have.  But as life would have it many are motivated by dishonesty, and practices that involve destroying others on a daily basis.  It takes energy to practice unethical principles one would conclude this type of motivation could cause fatigue.  Motivations give energy regardless if it is positive or negative.  It is helpful when we are motivated by encounters that improve and change our lives.

Talmud suggest, “Don’t use the conduct of a fool as a precedent” (p. 295). Although this is a mainstream Judaism it is a foundational principle all can use.  It is important to inspire and motivate by examples.  Living by standards, ethical principle and avoiding known mistakes will help.  Business requires ethical principle and standards that support honesty. Businesses that function under false pretenses are unethical.  Dishonest tactics to promote business is also unethical.  Quality and high excellence are motivating characteristics that promote business. Is the fortune cookie you open directing the principles of life? Has Fortune 500 provided you with tips on business ethics and principles?

Stand on the encounter that inspires and takes your business to the top.

Discovery Cards-Discovering things we can’t do

Sometimes it is more important to discover what we cannot do, than what we can do-Lin Yutang

Discovery Cards, which one have you turned over today. Imagine a new task, one you have not performed before, you discover the challenge.  Your mission is to develop a new product; you lean back in your chair and ponder in your mind how to complete the mission. Thoughts begin to race quickly in your mind.  I have no knowledge on this subject, it looks very difficult, perhaps I had better choose another mission there is no way this can be done. You pick up the phone call a friend there is no answer.  As you leave a message a discovery clicks on in your brain and you begin working vigorously to complete the mission.

You’ve just stepped out of the twilight zone in to an interest zone.  The interest zone causes you to engage in something new. The brain begins to twist and turn throwing out fast ideas.  These ideas are coming so fast they must be written down.  Margaret Fontey suggests “The one important thing I have learned over the years is the difference between taking one’s work seriously and taking one’s self seriously.  The first is imperative, and the second is disastrous” (p.345). Going into the interest zone you’ll find exciting new ideas that will help you develop and grow.  The discovery comes in the interest zone.  Trying new methods and strategies keeps your business alive, and thriving.

I spoke with a prospect earlier in the week, Jewelry is the prospects business. After our talk the prospect discovered the concept of conversion. This simple concept is not unknown to MLM networkers.  Internet marketers are discovering new ways to market their products and services every day.  I use it in my primary business. When my potential prospect does not raise their hands, I offer a free gift, a gift they can use too.  I’ve discovered that network marketing is jumping into an interest zone.  There are many ideas, tools and methods to learn. Why build only on what you know? Discover what is unknown and explore something new. This will keep your business out front. I like to leave you with this quote from Frank Lloyd Wright, “I know the price of success: dedication, hard work and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen” (p.434).

Measuring enthusiasm-yard stick approach

The measure of enthusiasm must be taken between interesting events.  It is between bites that the lukewarm angler loses heart-Edwin Way Teale.

“Measuring enthusiasm” does not take a yard stick.  It takes a steady mind, with massive ideas and one that doesn’t lose “heart.”  When is the last time an interesting event stimulated your enthusiasm? I reached back in the archives and pulled up baseball legion Willie Mays nicked name “The say hey kid.” I wonder between the bites did Willie Mays become lukewarm and lose heart.  He was known as the greatest baseball players MVP, Hall of Fame recipient. Oh what pressure. Measuring up to the demands of the league, fans and family could contribute to lack of enthusiasm.

In our own lives uncomfortable events could trap us into lukewarm actions and we lose heart.  If Willie Mays succumbed to the events of his day his success would fly out right with the home runs of others.  But, he decided in his “heart” not to measure his enthusiasm with a yard because he knew the yardstick measures would end at some point.  Instead, between events he remained true to his dreams, and provided Massive outcomes in home run percentages and runs.

A yardstick measures one yard—36 inches not very long, at the end of the yardstick there is a drop off and the rest is an estimate.  It takes consistence and transportability in the mind to eliminate lukewarm states.  The energy expenditure should demonstrate balance.  Thomas Arnold said, “The difference between one man and another is not mere ability…it is energy” (p. 281).  It took energy for Willie Mays to perform exceptionally and it will take that same energy for you, and I to become successful in business.

How are you measuring your business? Are you lukewarm with limited energy?  Have you decided to give up and quite, join another business perhaps?  How do you measure success? Does your “heart” direct your steps?  Tips to maintain the energy you need to success.

  1. Decide today what are your goals
  2. Begin to plan activities that will make you successful
  3. Observe what others who are successful are doing
  4. Read articles on success stories
  5. Eliminate negative thoughts
  6. Don’t take everything so serious
  7. Don’t think better think Massive
  8. Don’t measure success by a yardstick
  9. Stimulate yourself with a positive outlook
  10. Forget plan “B” make plan A work
